Pyongyang, August 12 (KCNA) -- European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton in a recent statement condemned a wrong decision by Israel.

The Israeli authorities decided to build about 900 Jewish dwelling houses in East Kuds. In this regard Ashton said the move undermined the efforts to revive Mideast peace talks.

Ashton reiterated that all Israeli settlement activities were illegal under international law.

The EU has repeatedly urged the Government of Israel to immediately end all settlement activities, she said.
