Beijing, August 11 (KCNA) -- The Ministry of National Defense of China Tuesday said that mass media should not misunderstand an annual exercise of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (CPLA).

Some media reported that many CPLA units gathered at the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, linking it with the situation of the south sea.

In an article posted on its website, the ministry said some Guangzhou-based units conducted an annual exercise.

The article urged media to refrain from misunderstanding the exercise.
