Beijing, August 11 (KCNA) -- Chinese experts refuted the "China threat theory" highlighted in Japan's latest "Defense White Paper".

An expert of the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations said "maritime threat" is the key point of the "China threat" advertised by Japan in this year's "Defense White Paper" and that Japan, through the advertisement, seeks to awake neighboring nations to fears of "China threat".

A vice-director of the Institute of Japanese Affairs under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences said China's "strong-arm policy" towards Japan and the United States, particularly the U.S.-Japan alliance, does not exist.

"Does it conform to Japan's interests and expectation that China always remains in poor condition and should China stop progress and always remain backward to meet Japan's ill-natured expectation and desire?" the expert asked, terming such thinking pattern of Japan as hegemonic.

An expert of the same institute accused Japan of taking a high-handed and overbearing attitude towards China.

The experts urged Japan to refrain from spreading misinformation and imprudently surmising the prospect of bilateral relations.
