Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Events were held in different countries to mark the 51st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership. A seminar took place in Mexico and an opening ceremony of the Korean fine art exhibition in Bulgaria on August 6 and 8.

The exhibition featured fine art works on the Korean people building a thriving socialist nation.

Juan Campos Vega, chairman of the Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea, and other speakers highly praised Kim Jong Il as the great Songun brilliant commander as he has pursued the unique Songun politics by successfully carrying forward the Songun idea founded by President Kim Il Sung.

Kim Jong Il's Songun politics serves as the most effective political mode and all-powerful treasured sword for shattering the imperialists' high-handed and arbitrary practices and ambition for world hegemony and guaranteeing the triumphant advance of the cause of popular masses for independence and the socialist cause, they said, explaining and proving the essence, validity and vitality of the Songun politics by linking it with the reality of the DPRK.

Under the 50 odd year-long Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il the Korean people have made great progress in the struggle to build a thriving nation, reunify the country and accomplish the cause of global independence, they stressed.

They expressed the belief that the Korean people would grandly greet the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung as a great jubilee in human history under the experienced and seasoned leadership of Kim Jong Il.
