U.S. Hit for Instigating Japan to Grab Tok Islets

Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- The deputy spokesman for the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea in a commentary on August 9 chided the base behavior of the U.S. imperialists to mark the inviolable sea of the Korean nation as "Japan Sea".

Recalling that the U.S. submitted to an international organization an official view that the East Sea of Korea should be unilaterally marked as "Japan Sea," he said this base action is sparking off strong resentment of all the Koreans.

The designation of "Japan Sea" contrary to the international common sense appeared for the first time at the U.S. tacit approval, he charged.

The U.S. recent behavior is little short of a replica of the 1905 "Taft-Katsura Agreement" as it is instigating Japan to grab Tok Islets, it held.

If the U.S. continues insisting on marking "Japan Sea", it will spark off bitterer anti-Americanism, it said, demanding the U.S. immediately withdraw the recent action and make an apology for it.
