Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- South Korean MBC on August 10 called for checking the moves of foreign forces to wrongly mark the East Sea of Korea.

MBC accused the U.S. of recently submitting to an international organization a written view that the East Sea of Korea should be marked as "Japan Sea."

The sea which the Korean nation has long called the East Sea of Korea was named "Japan Sea" because of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea in the past, it held.

Any action to mark the East Sea of Korea as "Japan Sea" should be checked, it said, stressing that to this end the "government" should take positive measures.
