Russian Air Force to Improve Its Equipment

Moscow, August 12 (KCNA) -- Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force Alexandr Delin Tuesday said Russia plans to increase the bases of army flying corps from 8 to 14 till 2020.

Speaking to reporters, he said the air force will purchase over 1 000 helicopters until 2020 according to the state military equipment plan.

Russia pays deep concern to resuming the manufacture of large transport helicopter "Mig-26" to provide the army with fuel and lubricant, he said, adding:

The air force received four "Su-34" tactical bombers last year and will take six this year.

The U.S. does not have such bomber.

This year the air force will also receive anti-aircraft missiles "S-400" for two regiments.

The Russian Defense Industry Complex is developing a new long-range early warning aircraft "A-100".

Russia plans to deploy operational and tactical drones in air bases under the control of the headquarters of each military district.
