The participants laid a floral basket before the statue of the President at the school and made a bow. Speeches were made at the ceremony. The deputy mayor of the Jilin City People's Government of China said China and the DPRK are friendly neighbors linked by the same mountain and rivers. The peoples of the two countries forged the feelings of deep friendship in blood in the course of their joint protracted revolutionary struggle, he noted. Jilin City is symbolic of the Sino-DPRK friendship as it is a place where Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people and a close friend, conducted his revolutionary activities and which is associated with the activities of Kim Jong Il, he said.
