Beijing, August 13 (KCNA) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao hoped for the successful 26th Summer Universiade on August 11 when he met with the president of the International University Sports Federation in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province.

The Universiade in China would offer an important theatre for disseminating the Olympic movement, promoting the development and dissemination of the university sports in China and the world and advancing the exchange of students in different countries and regions of the world, he said.

All the preparations for the Universiade have been completed thanks to the powerful support of the International University Sports Federation and the concerted efforts by all its members, he noted.
