Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Megawati Soekarnoputri, general chairwoman of the Central Directive Council of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, congratulated the party, government and people of the DPRK on the achievements made in building an economic power and accomplishing the cause of national reunification under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il. She said this when receiving DPRK Ambassador to Indonesia Ri Jong Ryul on August 10 who paid a courtesy call on her. She expressed belief that the Korean people would build a prosperous and powerful country in the near future without fail.

She noted her party would always support the struggle of the party, government and people of the DPRK for peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula and make positive efforts to boost the relations with the Workers' Party of Korea.

She supported the efforts of the DPRK to settle the issue of the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and negotiations, expressing hope that a durable peace-keeping mechanism would be built on the peninsula and Korea be reunified in a peaceful way.
