Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- A high-ranking member of the Palestine National Liberation Movement (Fatah) in a statement on August 10 warned the U.S. of its unreasonable attempt to challenge the legitimate demands of the Palestinians.

He accused the U.S. of contemplating exercising its veto on a written request for the recognition of the Palestinian independent state to be submitted to the UN General Assembly in coming September.

If the U.S. refuses to recognize the Palestinian independent state, it will face the challenge of the Arabs and the Muslim world and spark off the worldwide criticism, he warned.
