|
Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- The "north-south simultaneous Buddhist masses praying for the country's reunification" simultaneously took place at temples across the country on Monday to mark the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation. Present there were office-bearers of the Central Committee of the Buddhist Federation of Korea and its provincial, city and county committees, priests and monks of temples and believers. Rituals were made to be followed by speeches and a joint prayer of the north and the south for the country's reunification was read out at the masses. The speeches and the joint prayer said that the simultaneous Buddhist masses praying for the country's reunification at all temples in the north and the south are significant events as they reflect the desire and will of all the Koreans at home and overseas for reunification. They called upon all the Buddhists in the north and the south and abroad to intensify the practical actions to resolutely frustrate the reckless moves of the U.S. imperialists and south Korean puppet forces to provoke a nuclear war against the DPRK, improve the inter-Korean relations and defend and implement the north-south declarations by achieving unity in Dharma-minded concord under the banner of "By our nation itself". |
