Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- Floral baskets were placed before the statues of President Kim Il Sung on the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Servicepersons, people from all walks of life and school youth and children visited the statues of the President standing in various places of the capital including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Il Sung Military University, the Ministry of People's Security and the Pyongyang Students and Children's Palace.

Floral baskets in the name of the party, armed forces, power organs, ministries, national institutions, units of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, organsand industrial establishments in the city and schools were laid before the President's statues.

They paid tribute to him, looking back on the feats he performed by accomplishing the historic cause of Korea's liberation and building a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, on this land.

Servicepersons, working people and school youth and children across the country laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the President's statues standing in their residential areas.
