Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- Russian and Nigerian papers carried special write-ups on the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation. The Russian newspaper Patriot No. 30 carried a picture of President Kim Il Sung making a historic speech upon his triumphant return home at a Pyongyang city mass rally and an article titled "Century of Liberation". The article said: Kim Il Sung founded the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army after clarifying that an armed struggle was the only way for achieving national liberation and united anti-Japanese patriotic forces by forming the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland. The traditions of victory which began in Mt. Paektu are given steady continuity thanks to the Songun politics. The paper is illustrated by a photo showing a panoramic view of Pyongyang City. The Nigerian paper Nigerian Observer on August 10 carried an article titled "Kim Il Sung: genius of guerrilla war methods." Noting that Korean liberation was the victory of superb guerrilla war methods created by Kim Il Sung, a legendary guerrilla commander, the paper said he set forth a lot of guerrilla war methods during the anti-Japanese armed struggle. By dint of such superb war methods the Japanese imperialists' "combing tactics", "Patience wears out stones" and "tactics of long-distance pursuit" and other tactics were frustrated, it said. The Pochonbo Battle clearly proved the above-said superb war methods, the paper noted, adding that the exploits the President performed by winning one victory after another in many battles fought during the great anti-Japanese war and accomplishing the historic cause of national liberation would shine long in the world history of the national liberation struggle in colonies. |
