Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- The South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification made public a statement on Aug. 13 to denounce the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet warmongers for their war exercises against the DPRK.

The statement said that the U.S. and the south Korean authorities are set to stage joint military exercises Ulji Freedom Guardian from August 16 to 26 with war equipment and huge forces involved.

The war exercises to be staged according to "OPLAN 5027", a plan for mounting a preemptive attack on the DPRK, will screw up the military tension, the statement said.

The warmongers seek to stage exercises for a total war despite their lip-service for dialogue, creating an atmosphere of confrontation with the DPRK again, it charged.

It called upon all the compatriots aspiring after peace and reunification to pool their efforts to smash the warmongers' moves for confrontation with the DPRK.
