Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- A historic pan-national rally for the peace and reunification of Korea was held in the northern portion of Panmunjom on August 15, Juche 79 (1990).

The rally, the first of its kind since the division of the country 45 years ago, was attended by Koreans from the north and south of Korea and abroad.

After the rally, they set up a monument and planted pine-nut trees around the venue in token of the nation's ardent desire for the country's reunification.
