Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- DPRK girls won the 25m sports pistol and 25m rapid-fire pistol team events of the 5th World Military Games held in Brazil in July.

Some 40 shooters from more than ten countries competed in shooting matches.

The DPRK girls scored 848 points in the 25m sports pistol event held on the 19th to defeat Polish, Brazilian, Norwegian and Indian rivals and take the title.

In the 25m rapid-fire pistol event held on the 22nd they trounced Chinese, Polish, Norwegian and Brazilian shooters and finished first with 1 725 points.

They are Ri Hyang Sun, 26, Kim Hyang Gum, 22 and So Un Ju, 22. All of them belong to the April 25 National Defense Sports Team.

Ri won gold medals at the 10m air pistol event of the 10th Asian Shooting Championship in 2004 and the 25m rapid-fire pistol team event of the 4th World Military Games in 2007.
