Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- A seminar was held by the French Group for the Study of the Juche and Songun Idea and a lecture titled "Songun leadership is an inheritance of tradition established in the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle" by the Ukrainian "Treasured Sword of Songun" Association for the Study of the Juche Idea on Sunday. They were to mark the 51st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership.

Jean Marie Lambret, chief of the French Group, made a speech. He said that the imperialists are becoming all the more pronounced in their moves for military aggression and intervention in many countries and regions of the world. This reality clearly proves that the Songun policy is, indeed, an almighty treasured sword that firmly safeguards the sovereignty and dignity of the country and reliably guarantees the regional peace and stability, he noted, adding:

No wonder the world progressive people are extending support and solidarity to the Korean people, praising their resolute struggle against the imperialists in the van of the anti-imperialist front under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Nikolai Polishk, chairman of the Ukrainian Association, at the lecture emphasized that Kim Jong Il had developed in depth the Songun idea founded by President Kim Il Sung and fully embodied the Songun policy.

Under Kim Jong Il's Songun leadership the international position and authority of the DPRK have been remarkably strengthened and the independent dignity of the Korean people further enhanced, he said. It is an irresistible trend of the times to develop the relations with the DPRK making a leaping progress toward a thriving nation, he added.
