Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- A lecture took place in Mexico, a meeting in Benin and film show in Thailand from August 9 to 13 to mark the 51st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership.

Ricardo Cantu Garza, coordinator of the National Coordinating Committee of the Workers' Party of Mexico, praised Kim Jong Il as peerlessly illustrious commander of Songun, the great defender of cause of socialism and the most experienced political elder.

The Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il serves as a banner of victory of the cause of socialism and all-powerful treasured sword, he said, adding that his Songun leadership exploits would always go down in the history of Kim Il Sung's nation and human history.

Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association "Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader" said that the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il is the most powerful political mode guaranteeing the victorious advance of the cause of socialism and independence despite of the imperialists' high-handed and arbitrary practices which are getting more undisguised day by day.

After watching the Korean film "Reply of Korea" the director of the Global Link International Holiday of Thailand noted that he came to know well that the Korean people are building a thriving nation, undeterred by any arbitrary practice and pressure of the "only super power," thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il, he added.

A meeting and book and photo exhibition took place in Russia to mark the above-said anniversary and the 66th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

On display in the venues of the events were famous works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, books and photos introducing their immortal exploits and photos on advantages of the socialist educational system in the DPRK.

The vice-chairman and secretary general of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK and other speakers praised the immortal exploits the President performed by defeating two imperialisms in one generation and thereby liberating the country and defending freedom and independence of the country and the nation and building a socialist power centered on the popular masses.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting in Russia.
