Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Wednesday called on nationals to plant trees to scale up forest coverage.

Odinga expressed fears that the country was paying heavily for failing to conserve and restore the degraded environment as severe drought and floods have become a common occurrence.

He commended the private sector for their contribution towards the environmental conservation initiative but challenged the youth to volunteer and participate in greening the land.
