Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The 17th World Taekwon-Do Championship will be held in Pyongyang from September 6 to 12.

An estimated 80 countries and regions have applied for the championship.

The championship's emblem inscribed with the DPRK flag, Taekwon-Do Hall and Taekwon-Do movements, has already been prepared, along with trophies, diplomas and medals.

Materials are also ready for the competitors in their training and matches.

The organizing committee, in cooperation with relevant organs, has taken measures to fully provide lodging, traffic and tourist conditions to the players, coaches and those coming from other countries to enjoy the matches.

It is also keeping in touch with national Taekwon-Do associations of other countries for a successful sponsorship of the championship.

Opening and closing ceremonies and other events to be held during the tournament will help develop Taekwon-Do techniques and arouse worldwide interest in Taekwon-Do.
