Pyongyang, August 20 (KCNA) -- The construction is making rapid progress in the Mansudae area here.

The framework for nearly 1 000 flats has been completed and work is now under way above 10-20 floors at an increasing number of housing projects.

Signal successes are reported from various construction sites. Groundwork of various public buildings and public catering establishments was completed and wall concrete tamping is making brisk headway.

Soldier-builders are performing feats in the construction of apartment framework after completing vast groundwork for skyscraping apartment houses in a brief span of time.

The Construction Regiment of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, the Ryongsan Construction Division and other units engaged in building skyscraping apartment houses are also registering successes.

The unit under the General Bureau of Capital Construction was the first finished.
