Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- The Songun politics serves as a powerful weapon for leading the cause of independent reunification to victory and a national banner encouraging all Koreans at home and abroad in the nation-wide patriotic struggle to meet challenges of the anti-reunification forces.

Rodong Sinmun Monday says this in a bylined article.

The idea of "By our nation itself" helped promote the advance of the era of independent reunification and imbued all Koreans with a bright prospect of the nation. This would be unthinkable without the great Songun politics, the article says, and goes on:

Thanks to the Songun politics there arrived the June 15 era of reunification when the nation made a dynamic advance in the idea of "By our nation itself" and a firm foundation of independent reunification, peace and prosperity was laid despite outside forces' desperate moves for aggression. It is also thanks to the great Songun politics that the destiny of the nation and peace on the Korean Peninsula have been firmly preserved and the enthusiasm of the fellow countrymen for reunification has run high despite the evermore undisguised moves of the warmongers at home and abroad for a war of aggression against the north.

It is ascribable to the Songun politics that the DPRK is shedding its rays as a bulwark for independent reunification and a beacon of hope for all Koreans.

All Koreans at home and abroad are drawing inexhaustible strength and courage from the Songun politics which helps foil every vicious move of the warmongers for a war and bring the cause of independent reunification to an uninterrupted surge and turning out as one in the patriotic movement for reunification with strong grit and optimism.
