Beijing, August 21 (KCNA) -- Guo Boxiong, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, recently called for conducting the ideological work for officers and soldiers in a substantial way.

During his inspection tour of the Beijing military district, Guo said studying and implementing President Hu Jintao's July 1 important speech is a crucial political task and a long-term strategic duty.

Every unit should prepare itself to be politically steadfast and ideologically pure, he added.
