Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- The construction of Tanchon Port in South Hamgyong Province, the DPRK, is moving ahead rapidly. On Sunday the builders completed the project of breakwater extending a thousand and several hundred meters. The project, which would have taken more than ten years, was finished in less than two years thanks to new construction methods invented by builders. The wharf project is nearing completion. Wharfs No. 2, 3 and 4 have already been built and No. 1 is now under construction. Cranes are being installed in wharf No. 2. The news of leader Kim Jong Il's historic visit to Russia has encouraged the builders to push ahead with the port construction. |
