Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- An exhibition of materials and means for the education of youth and children and scientific and technological achievements made by youth and students across the country was opened with due ceremony at the Central Youth Hall here Tuesday to mark Youth Day.

Present there were Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, chairman of the Education Commission, Ri Ja Bang, chairman of the State Science and Technology Commission, and others.

Ri Yong Chol, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League, in his opening address said that the exhibition would contribute to bringing about a turn in the ideological education of school youth and children and developing the nation's science and technology.

On display in the venue of the exhibition are at least 1 600 materials of over 90 kinds and means for the education of youth and children and more than 3 500 scientific and technological achievements presented by officials of the youth league and youth and students from across the country.
