Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- An art performance was given by successful participants in the vocal solo and recital contest among officials and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) at the Central Hall of Workers here Tuesday on the 51st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of his Songun revolutionary leadership.

In man's solo "The General Is the Son of the Guerrillas" and female solo "Oh, My Motherland of Songun" and other numbers the performers highly praised the feats Kim Jong Il has performed on behalf of the country and its people and the times and history since the day he declared his firm faith and will to complete the Korean revolution with arms.

Also staged were numbers reflecting the boundless trust in him, the indomitable fighting spirit and revolutionary optimism of the Korean people and the zeal of the workers and the unionists to dedicate themselves to the building of a thriving nation.

The performance was acclaimed by the audience.
