Moscow, August 22 (KCNA) -- A system of collecting and disposing of useless compact lamps is operating in Moscow.

The city authorities set up a city-wide system of collecting such compact lamps for fear that they may cause poisoning in case they are broken as they contain mercury though they consume less electricity.

10 or 20 collecting sites found in every district have containers which may keep lamps unbroken.

These containers are carried by specially-manufactured vehicles.

Such collecting sites are reported to reach a total of more than 1300 in Moscow at present.
