Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- Workers, members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK), youth and students and members of the Democratic Women's Union of Korea (DWUK) separately held meetings on Tuesday to mark the 51st anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of Songun revolutionary leadership.

Attending the meetings were Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Ri Yong Su, department director of the C.C., the WPK, officials of working people's organizations, working people, youth and students.

Reporters and speakers at the meetings recalled that the on-the-spot guidance provided by Kim Jong Il to the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the Korean People's Army on August 25, Juche 49 (1960) meant a declaration of his fixed faith and will to complete the Songun revolutionary cause of Juche with arms and an event of special mention as it provided an occasion of epoch-making turn in developing the revolutionary armed forces.

They said he has built up matchless military power through his energetic leadership for a long period, firmly defending the country and revolution and Korean-style socialism.

Referring to the fact that Kim Jong Il opened a new shining history of prospering Kim Il Sung's Korea under the banner of Songun, they stressed his leadership exploits would shine forever along with the nation's history as he put the dignity and military power of Juche Korea on the highest level.
