Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- A lecture, book and photo exhibition and film show took place in Nepal and Uganda on August 17 and 18 to mark the 51st anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership.

On display in the venues of the events were works of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, photos showing their exploits and books and photos introducing Songun Korea.

The participants of the film shows watched Korean films including "Arms of Korea".

Present at the events were personages of the Nepal Communist Party (United Marxist-Leninist), the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), the Institute of World Cultural Exchange of Nepal, the Kampala City Committee of the Uganda National Resistance Movement and Kitante Primary School in Kampala City and masses.

It was stressed at the lecture in Nepal that the independent dignity of the Korean people has been remarkably raised and the DPRK has demonstrated its might as an invincible socialist power which no one dares provoke under his Songun revolutionary leadership.

The chairman of the Kampala City Committee of the above-said Movement noted that the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il is a deciding factor which made it possible for the DPRK, not a big country, to stand up against the U.S styling itself "the world's only superpower" and protect its sovereignty and dignity and achieve victories only.
