General Strike in S. Korea
|
|
Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Media Trade Union on August 23 entered into a general strike to protest against the authorities' moves to put it under their control for staying in power. The strikers held a rally in Seoul that day. At the rally speakers noted the media has come into the possession of specified forces under the present regime, thus whitewashing the pro-Japanese, pro-American dictators. The "Grand National Party" is giving special benefits to Chosun Ilbo, Choongang Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo for staying in power for a long period while attempting to take discriminating measures against other media, they charged. Media persons will pool their efforts with different circles to wage a dynamic struggle to check the moves of the ruling forces to put media under their control, they stressed. |
