Russian High-ranking Military Officer Interviewed

Pyongyang, August 26 (KCNA) -- Konstantin Sidenko, commander of the Eastern Military District of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, was interviewed by KCNA on Friday before departing from here after wrapping up his delegation's visit to the DPRK.

While touring various places during the delegation's stay here, I felt a lot, he said, and continued:

What is the most important is that the army and the people of the DPRK have boundless reverence for Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il.

I think that the delegation's visit to the DPRK contributed to exchanging experience and cooperating with each other.

It is important to boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the armies and peoples of the two countries.

The visit to Russia paid by General Secretary Kim Jong Il again proves that he is attaching importance to the DPRK-Russia friendship.

His visit to Russia is of weighty significance in developing the Russia-DPRK friendly relations onto a new higher stage.

If I were in Russia, I would have had an honor of meeting Kim Jong Il.

We will set store by the traditional good neighborly and friendly relations with the Korean people and make efforts to have multifaceted cooperation and exchange in the future, too.

I am convinced that the Russia-DPRK friendship provided by the top leaders of the two countries will grow stronger in the common interests.
