Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- The Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea released a statement on August 23 denouncing the U.S.-south Korea Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises.

The statement said:

The Panmunjom Mission of the Korean People's Army already strongly urged the U.S. and the south Korean authorities to cancel at once the projected UFG targeted against the DPRK.

The joint military maneuvers are large-scale war exercises to invade the north and provocative moves to disturb peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. They are aimed at stoking the atmosphere of confrontation between the north and the south.

UFG is a replica of the bankrupt conspiratorial Cheonan warship sinking case of the U.S. and south Korean puppet group rejected by the international community.

The DPRK will decisively frustrate the open provocations of the enemies and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
