Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, returned home Saturday, accompanied by the suite members, after successfully winding up his visit to the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China.

He was warmly greeted at the border railway station by Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, Kim Kyong Hui, member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., the WPK, and other senior party and army officials.

The senior party and army officials, carrying the unanimous best wishes of all the service persons and people, presented a basket of flowers to Kim Jong Il who returned home safely after performing immortal feats through his external activities to be recorded in the history of prosperity of the socialist country through his long journey covering more than 8 000 km and warmly congratulated him on his successful foreign tours.

He met with the senior party and army officials present there and extended a warm salute to all beloved people of the country.
