Tehran, August 27 (KCNA) -- Iran's Space Organization recently announced that the domestically manufactured Kavoshgar 5 (Explorer 5) rocket will be launched into space by the end of summer. The rocket, weighing 300 kilograms, will carry a capsule containing a rhesus monkey, the director of organization, Hamid Fazeli, was quoted as saying. The country is planning to send humans into space in the future on this basis. Iran said that Kavoshgar-3 (Explorer 3) rocket carrying its first "experimental capsule" was successfully test-fired carrying a rat, two turtles and worms in February last year. |
