Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- The visiting vice-director of the International Affairs Department of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, Wei Mengxin, was interviewed by KCNA Monday prior to his returning home.

Question: Will you give me your impressions of Pyongyang?

Answer: When I was serving in the Chinese People's Liberation Army, I could learn many things about the Democratic People's Republic of Korea through its pictorials and movies.

I had wanted to visit Korea when an opportunity comes.

I am pleased to visit Pyongyang.

During my visit, I have had many things to remember. Especially, I could see from the plane the beautiful scenery and standardized farmland of the DPRK.

While talking with Korean people, I could feel their friendly feelings towards the Chinese people.

Question; What did you visit during your stay in Korea?

Answer: Members of my delegation visited President Kim Il Sung's old home in Mangyongdae, Through the visit we were deeply moved by the Korean people's deep reverence for the President.

Kim Il Sung was an old friend and comrade-in-arms of the Chinese people.

During the anti-Japanese armed struggle, he fought together with the Chinese comrades against the common enemy.

Monumental edifices in Pyongyang, including the Tower of the Juche Idea, mirror the wisdom and creativity of the Korean people.

I could also sense the mental power and strength displayed by the Korean people in the effort to build a thriving socialist nation and achieve the country's reunification under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.

Question: Leader Kim Jong Il visited northeast China again a few days ago. What do you think about it?

Answer: China-DPRK friendship has a long history. His visit demonstrated the invariable will of the Workers' Party and Government of Korea to develop the bilateral relations through generations.

I think it is a very important work to further consolidate the China-DPRK friendship, following the tradition of elder generations.

Our delegation is visiting Korea for this purpose.

We will closely cooperate with Korea in protecting the disabled in step with the development of China-DPRK friendship.
