Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- Mt. Chilbo, known as one of the six most celebrated mountains of Korea, is standing in Myongchon County, North Hamgyong Province. It, covering about 250 square kilometers, has many peaks, some 1 000 meters high. The highest peak is 1 103-meter-high Sangmae.

The name of the onshore mountain means seven treasures.

The mountain boasts of many big and small waterfalls, pools, scenic spots, fantastic rocks and cliffs, as well as cultural relics, including the Kaesim Temple.

The autumn-tinted and snow-clad mountain is a spectacular sight.

It is divided into Inner Chilbo, Outer Chilbo and Sea Chilbo, with hotels, rooms for rent and beach resort available for tourists.

The mountain has become a famous tourist destination under deep care of leader Kim Jong Il.
