Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Peruvian organizations made public a joint statement on Aug. 25 in denunciation of the war exercises of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities. They included the Peruvian National Independent Movement for Free Voting's Union, the General Kim Jong Il Peruvian Amicable Institute, the "Kim Jong Suk Library" of Peru, the Peruvian-Korean Institute of Culture and Friendship, the Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea and the Pyongyang Cultural Center in Peru.

Expressing concerns over the tense situation on the Korean Peninsula, the statement denounced the provocative Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises of the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet trigger-happy forces.

Thanks to the Songun politics the Korean People's Army developed to be a powerful army which can repel any aggressors at a single blow, the statement noted, and went on:

Songun proved in practice that only powerful defence capacity can guarantee peace.

We strongly demand the U.S. and the south Korean authorities stop their joint military exercises.

We also hope that all the international and domestic organizations would extend solidarity to our demand.
