Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- Tunisia has firmly condemned the Israeli military operation against Gaza, the state-run press agency TAP reported on Friday, quoting a communique released by the foreign affairs ministry.

The communique stated that at the time when the region is witnessing major changes, Israel is engaging in an "odious military aggression that has caused the death of many innocent victims."

Tunisia also expressed its preoccupation at the "silence of the international community before this grave violation of the international humanitarian law."

It called on acting parties in the international community and the Mideast Quartet to put an end to Israel's military aggression, protect the Palestinian people and lift the embargo imposed on the Gaza strip.
