Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- A solidarity council for supporting the general strike of the media trade unions of south Korea held a press conference in Youido of Seoul on August 28.

The organization said that civic and public organizations supported the general strike of the media trade unions against the authorities' moves to control media.

Any step to be taken by the authorities to offer preference to the conservative media including Chosun Ilbo, Choongang Ilbo and Dong-A Ilbo would represent the interests of the privileged circles and conservative forces.

It noted that just is the demand of the media trade unions in the general strike.

The organization disclosed the crimes committed by the conservative media.
