Pyongyang, August 31 (KCNA) -- The April 18 best player prize was awarded to school youth and children who set an example in sports activities with due ceremony on Tuesday.

The prize instituted in Juche 95 (2006) is awarded to players who proved successful at the annual National School Youth and Children's Sports Contest for Jongilbong Prize.

School youth and children's sports schools, school children's palaces, houses and secondary and primary schools across the country have operated sports groups to bring up many future players who would contribute to the development of sports of the country.

Excellent 40 players were selected as the best players. They proved successful in contests including basketball, volleyball, table tennis and Taekwon-Do at the 37th National School Youth and Children's Sports Contest for Jongilbong Prize this year.
