Tehran, August 31 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the foreign ministry of Iran resolutely rejected the unjust assertion of the West against his country on Aug. 29.

Recently the West claimed that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps of Iran meddled in the internal affairs of Syria. The claim is groundless and aimed to shift the responsibilities on to other country, the spokesman said.

Noting that the Syrian government and people have ample ability to settle the problems of their country for themselves, the spokesman said that Iran respects the sovereignty of all the countries.
