Pyongyang, September 1 (KCNA) -- Mass struggle of people of all social standings of south Korea are unabated as they are determined to put an end to the present puppet authorities' traitorous rule.

The spirit of anti-"government" struggle is running high against the authorities which pushed the north-south relations to the lowest ebb, in pursuance of the hostile policy toward the DPRK with August 15 as an occasion.

Civic and public organizations and political parties held the August 15 meeting for independence and reunification in Seoul on August 15. They said that they can never remain an on-looker to the present authorities which persists in the hostile policy toward the fellow countrymen, while going against the nation's desire for reunification.

The farmers across south Korea held a meeting for independence and reunification on August 15 outside the U.S. military base in Ryongsan, Seoul at which they declared that they would launch an action to judge the group of traitors.

The large-scale Ulji Freedom Guardian joint military exercises that were staged from August 16 to 26 touched off the indignation of the south Koreans.

Peace movement organizations held the 143rd action for independence, reunification and peace on August 16, denouncing the warmongers' racket for a war of aggression against the DPRK.

Such civic and public organizations as the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification issued statements and appeals at the same time, calling on all the Koreans desirous of peace and reunification to pool their efforts and foil the moves of the war maniacs to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK.

They expressed the strong will of south Korean people to build a genuine democratic government, a government for welfare and a unified government without fail.

More than 10 000 people including workers, students, mediapersons and teachers took to the streets on August 20 and 21. They shouted "Punish regime deteriorating people's livelihood!", "Withdraw layoff!", "Ensure political freedom of teachers and public officials!" and "Let us have registration fee halved and achieve just education!"

Workers across south Korea issued the declaration on the situation and waged various other actions to punish the conservative ruling forces for pursuing unpopular rule, thus causing financial insolvency, skyrocketing prices, mass unemployment of youth and wholesale lay-offs.

The struggle against the group of traitor's deceptive policy of halving the registration fee is being waged across south Korea with lots of people involved, dealing serious blows at the present regime.
