S. Korean Prosecution's Unjust Indictment Slammed
|
|
Pyongyang, September 3 (KCNA) -- The Committee for Measures against the Spy Ring Case and the Association for Emergency Measures against the "National Security Law" in south Korea issued a joint statement on August 25 denouncing the puppet prosecution's suppression. The statement accused the prosecution of detaining and indicting four workers of a company on charges of "formation of anti-state organization and espionage" that day, talking about a "spy ring case." The spy ring case in which the human rights abuses by the Intelligence Service and its investigation sparked off furor was nothing but a sheer fabrication made by the present "government" to tide over its ruling crisis, it said. It is as clear as a pikestaff that the present regime and conservative forces would abuse the above-said case with next year's elections at hand, it held. Noting that the things the prosecution produced as evidence proving "espionage" are nothing but a report of the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions on its activities, etc. the statement dismissed the indictment as nonsensical. The people will resolutely smash the attempt of the security forces to suppress democracy and human rights by their concerted efforts, it concluded. |
