Pyongyang, September 5 (KCNA) -- The 63rd anniversary of the DPRK was celebrated in different countries. Friendship meetings, photo exhibitions and film shows took place in Romania, Thailand and Singapore on August 25 and 30.

On display in the venues of the events were photos of leader Kim Jong Il leading the army and people of the DPRK to build a thriving nation and other photos on the true picture of Songun Korea.

Films shown included Korean films "Reply of Korea" and "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation".

The chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania said the Korean people are holding Kim Il Sung in high esteem as the eternal President of the DPRK and boundlessly revering him.

The President liberated the country from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule, providing the once oppressed and maltreated Korean people with a worthy life and happiness and building a country, a socialist power in which the people have become its master for the first time in the history of the Korean nation, he noted.

The President's feats performed in the nation-building will always shine along with socialist Korea, he stressed.

The DPRK led by Kim Jong Il is dynamically advancing towards a thriving nation, firmly defending its sovereignty and dignity and working world-startling miracles, he added.
