Beijing, September 5 (KCNA) -- Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the C.C., the Communist Party of China, said China is willing to steadily develop friendly and cooperative ties with Cuba.

Liu made the remark at a recent meeting with the special envoy of Raul Castro Ruz, first secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Cuba, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Liu said the 6th congress of the Communist Party of Cuba indicated the way of seeking development suitable to Cuba in the new century and promoting the cause of socialist construction.

China will as ever pursue the long-term policy of friendship with Cuba and invigorate exchange and cooperation of various forms, jointly bringing about a new turn in the bilateral friendship, he added.
