Pyongyang, September 6 (KCNA) -- Trial Rason-Mt. Kumgang international tourism took place in the DPRK several days ago. The tourists went to Mt. Kumgang from Rason by the ship "Mangyongbong". He Liwei, vice-president of the Korean Autonomous Provincial Tourism Bureau in Yanbian, China, told KCNA: The Korea Taepung International Investment Group sponsored the Mt. Kumgang tourism and invited many foreigners. Mt. Kumgang is a celebrated mountain well known to Chinese people. I am very happy to go sightseeing in the mountain. I hope I can know many things about the history, culture and customs of Korea through the tourism. I wish the Mt. Kumgang tourism would be thriving in the future. Jon Sin Ja, dean of the Sociology Department of the Academy of Humanities affiliated with Yanbian University, said after seeing Kuryong Falls: I visited Mt. Kumgang in 1991. At that time I was fascinated by spectacular sights of Kuryong Falls, Sangphal Pond and Manmulsang (myriad-shaped peaks), but this time I am struck again by the picturesque scene of the mountain. I am very interested in the tourist guide's humorous explanations of legends about the mountain. I feel like boasting of the mountain to the world. Jong Chol Hui, general manager of the Yanbian Tianyu International Trading Co. Ltd., said after enjoying the fine view of Manmulsang: Manmulsang is really a scenic spot as I was told. The myriad-shaped peaks are amazing. Ri Myong Jin, an employee of a Chinese industrial and commercial bank, said: What is most impressive for me in Lagoon Samil is a green pine tree. It reminds me of the strong spirit of the Korean nation. |
