Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- Finnish organizations posted on internet homepages special write-ups on Sept. 2 congratulating General Secretary Kim Jong Il on his successful historic visit to Russia.

The Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea posted an article accompanied with his portrait on its homepage in which it gave a detailed account of the fact that he paid an unofficial visit to Siberia and Far East region of the Russian Federation from Aug. 20 to 25.

Kim Jong Il's Russia visit was a landmark event as it brought about a turning point in developing the DPRK-Russia friendship on a new higher stage, the article said.

It referred to the fact that he met and had talks with the Russian president and toured different cities and units of Russia.

The Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea highly appreciated the successes made by him in his historic Russia visit and extended once again full support and solidarity to the just struggle of the Korean people for building a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation under his wise leadership, the article said.

The Finland-Korea Society posted a similar article illustrated with a picture of Kim Jong Il on its internet homepage.
