Pyongyang, September 8 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the newly built Meat Shop in Pothongmun Street.

The shop having a total floor space of at least 4,850 square metres has fish counters selling fresh and frozen fishes and processed fishes on the ground floor. Its first floor has meat counters selling beef, pork, geese, turkeys and other meat and processed meat. And its second floor has amenities for serving roast meat.

Modern equipment and selling conditions are fully provided to keep meat at the counters and service facilities are installed to the convenience of customers.

Going round exterior and interior of the shop for hours, he acquainted himself in detail with the construction, goods display and sale plan.

He highly appreciated the feats performed by soldier builders, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they successfully built the peculiar structure by brilliantly embodying the Juche-oriented architectural idea of the WPK.

He praised the shop for installing well equipment and fixtures including display cases, stands and tools on each floor as required by storing and sale of goods and customers.

Watching sturgeons, Ryongjong fishes, catfishes, eels and terrapins swim in aquariums, he said with satisfaction that customers can choose to eat fresh fishes all the year round. Seeing beef, pork, turkey and other meat and packed meat of different parts, sausages and varieties of canned meat, he said, his face beaming with a smile, that customers can ask for different kinds of meat they like.

Going round again Pothonggang Shop, a sister shop of Meat Shop in Pothongmun Street, he gave precious teachings.

Meat Shop in Pothongmun Street has an important duty and role to play in improving the diet of the citizens of the capital, he said, setting forth important tasks which would serve as guidelines for improving service to meet the intrinsic need of socialist commerce.

It is necessary to build more service centres such as Meat Shop in Pothongmun Street which specializes in selling varieties of meat and processed meat in different parts of the city as they are frequented by the people, he noted.

He expressed great expectation and conviction that the employees of Meat Shop in Pothongmun Street would creditably discharge their duty in service for the citizens of the capital.
