New Delhi, September 9 (KCNA) -- Torrential rain hit different parts of India recently, causing flood damage.

The flood left more than 160 people dead and over 5.5 million people homeless as of Sept. 6.

It also damaged crops including rice plants in large areas.

The government took an urgent measure to eradicate the aftermath of the flood.
